You preen my wing, I'll preen yours

Some eaglet cuddles from this morning at the SWFL bald eagle nest. Though most don't have a time stamp, they're all from 6-7 AM nest time. Older sibling E15 is the eaglet higher on the screen in all of these, but they're still pretty easy to tell apart by their feather development.

Taking turns stretching a wing over each other. There was also a bit of allopreening:

E16 preening E15, who is bending down to pick at their talons. Looked like E16 was peeling a bit the wax sheaths on E15's alula wing feathers that are starting to be grown in.

Both looking at something in the distance, and I thought that was cute, too. They've been peeking over the nest rails quite a bit and observing their surroundings, getting to know the territory they'll eventually learn to fly in.
