Zoopark

Started working on another sandbox park in Jurassic World Evolution.

I want to make it look mostly like a regular zoo that just happens to house (mostly) non-avian dinosaurs, and I also want to take my time to decorate the enclosures more than I've bothered to in campaign and challenge mode. There's one hotel, but I don't know if this would be located on a remote island where a multi-day stay is encouraged while you're already there, it's more city zoo than theme park. You can also pretend some of the other guest buildings are indoor exhibits of small animals rather than dedicated to selling merch.

I've also installed a bunch of dinosaur mods, mostly having to do with making them more scientifically accurate. A few I'd like to still install require DLC I don't have, so I've left empty spots for dinos I can't have yet.

Here's a little tour of what I have now, and of course I'll eventually use this as an environment to run around in with an imaginary camera and take aesthetic screenshots of every critter.

Theropod lookbook

It's a goth Indominus rex!

Not a moment too soon, considering I just finished herding a pack of Troodons back into their enclosure for the third time within a single storm. :D

(They had the comfort gene and everything, but just as I'd moved all but the last one of them into their enclosure, a storm started, and their comfort level was lowered by missing their friend in addition to the storm.)

Raptor paddock makeovering

Figures the first mods I install have to do with Velociraptors.
I used these lovely custom scenery items, and these invisible fences.

It's so pretty and detailed!

Ranibow Sprimkle

That's what I'm calling this shirt. As inspired by a literary classic.

Anyway, I made my Skye sim a new shirt, and thought I'd share.

For both AF and TF, androgynous and not. It's a recolor/retexture of loose T-shirt by Gothplague, with the help of the logo-less white recolor made by CrabOfDoom.

Fairy-winged tops for child sims

I made a texture edit with 8 variations of Sushigal007's top-only version of the basegame child fairy costume. Dainty sleeveless tops with wings on the back, suited for a costume party but also for a more everyday look.

Credits/WCIF on all the CC I've heaped upon my raptor sims

For those interested and as a memo for myself in case I misplace something.

This is all TS2 stuff, to be clear, because that's what I play. More pictures of the actual raptor sims can be seen at this tag. Also this is just the stuff on the sims themselves, but please feel free to ask about specific buy and build mode things if you want to know.

Have some swimtrunks

A little more Sims 2 custom content I've made. Six swimwear recolors for AM.

They come in two sizes: the default Maxis bodyshape, and Consort's heavy. The former doesn't need a mesh, as it's a basegame recolor. Mesh for the latter is not included, but can be found at the MTS link.

Wait, monster, where are you going? Grab these, too!

Browsing TS2 cc I came across the matching shirt sets Dig Up His/Her Bones by MissTiikeri (which can be found here, and preview pictures can be found here), and the AF set included these two fun shirts with grabby monster hands. However, in the AM set they're replaced with recolors of two of the other shirts, and that hardly seems fair, so I made matches of the two AF ones for sims assigned M at CAS, too.

Just add sauna

Managed to make a functional swimmable lake! Will probably still dress it up a bit with more plants and such should I have residents on this lot other than my brave tester sim, but it works.

Hawke Humbling (Dragon Age 2 spoilers)

Originally posted to tumblr on December 13 2017. Reposted here for archiving of posts I want to keep.

Not exactly Hawke Shaming, but perhaps a bit of that.

The Hawke family has it tough at the beginning, with the Blight, more than a little stressful arrival and making ends meet in Kirkwall… but they do still manage to have access to resources not available for everyone who’s gone through the same they have.

Hawke: Our uncle is Gamlen Amell. He knows we're coming. Surely someone could find him.
Carver: He's a nobleman here in the city. Our family has an estate.
Captain Ewald: He comes back, I'll bring you to him. But I don't have time to—
Fereldan deserter: What? You're going to let them through?
Other Fereldan deserter: We've been here for four days! They just got here!

I really like that this mod gives the characters labeled as Deserters the same armor as Warrior Hawke, to emphasize that they’re no worse than Hawke, who is just as much a deserter themself having run from Ostagar. It’s quite understandable that from their point of view the Hawke family are cutting in line.

It’ll come up later, too, especially when we get to Anders’s recruitment quest, where Andy&Lirene are, out of their own pretty empty pockets, basically running the refugee relief program the city or the Chantry should be responsible for but can’t be bothered with. Hawke’s job with Athenril or Meeran is shitty and so’s Gamlen’s house, but it’s work and lodging.

Some of the random encounter gangs in the city later are also just people who never got out of the kind of jobs Hawke had to make do with in the intervening year and Act 1. Especially the Dog Lords, who are very obviously Fereldans, still doing this stuff in Act 2. It’s easy to ignore as they are just NPCs who attack you and then you fight, but for want of an ancient treasure and ties to nobility, who knows, this could have been you, Hawke.

Dragon Age 2 mods I'm using

For those interested and as reference for myself.
