Parkfuls of raptors

Meanwhile, the Velo paddock gets a new resident. (Nice hat!)

New sister! Or, old sister - turns out she's alive and has just been at another facility for a while because of reasons. This is another mod, which adds a skin based on Subject V-2's design to the game as new cosmetic variation. As this is already an AU where the I. rex sibling is alive and the Indoraptor prototype was created on Isla Nublar, I named her Victoria.

Ironically, while V-2's design has more of a JP headshape, this cosmetic variation uses the JW model, while the raptors actually appearing in JW have just gotten a model replacement more based on the JP headshape. But I'm sure she'll fit right in.

Latest at my JWE sandbox park somewhat modeled after the moviepark (but gone pretty AU from there, lol).

Well, the herbivores in the Cretaceous Cruise enclosure don't seem very intimidated by the spinosaurids they're neighbors with, so that's good.

"Hey, before you girls head to your fish feeder just yet, there's a gyrosphere just about to come through the gate to your side, if you want to harass that."

"Thanks for the heads-up! We'll give them a good scare."

The Velociraptors get more space finally, with renovations having concluded in the part of their paddock that has been closed with a gate so far. What kind of renovations? Oh, just power going out in parts of the electrified fences, nothing major - and it's fixed! So all is well. :)

Things that go chirp in the night

Charlie, and Delta, have a little more dignified visit to the grooming station cage. How they got in there is a mystery that park security is still trying to solve.

More adventures at my JWE moviepark park (previously: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).

Oh boy, a chance to visit the facility behind the gate! Got a text with a temporary access code (expires in 15 minutes, so let's be quick about this, no time for sightseeing) and an order to go resupply a feeder in there.

Weird, because my staff map app still says the paddock in there is empty. Maybe they meant the second feeder at the back of the Velociraptor paddock and got them mixed up since it's so close. Well, I'm keeping this text as evidence, and they can't make me carry this stuff over there later if it's their mistake!

Meanwhile, at the aforementioned Velociraptor paddock:

"Hey Charlie, I bet you can't fit your head through the bars on the gate!"

"Oh yeah? Watch this! -Wait, how do I...? Oh shit, I'm stuck! Help!"

"Calm down, you'll hurt yourself trying to pull your head back like that! Try fitting the rest of you through instead?"

"Well, now my butt is stuck! Any more ideas?"

Fence tricks

"What's it look like out there?"

"Not as many people today... I think. Hold on, let me find something to stand on."

"I don't know why you bother with that, just do what I do."

"See? Easy!"

"Get your head back in here before they notice! It's supposed to be a secret we can do that, remember?"

"It's okay, I'm camoflaged."

Employing more conventional means at a different part of the park, Olive concludes that the leaves on the other side of the fence are indeed always greener and tastier.

Figures the first mods I install have to do with Velociraptors.
I used these lovely custom scenery items, and these invisible fences.

Working on the restricted area

More screenshots of my JWE moviepark park.

The paddock to the left of the monorail station houses Ankylosaurus. Officially they're part of the gyrosphere valley's fauna, but in the movie they're clearly not, probably because their tail clubs can crack the gyrospheres. The tour guide voice heard inside the gyrospheres in the game will claim they can't. Tour guide voice is lying to you.

The middle paddock is for the Velociraptors, but more on those later. To the left of them are Dilophosaurus, which I assume were kept in the restricted area since they're not an exhibit, but must have been on the island at the time of the park's closing.

They're cute. And get solid fences because they'll spit on people through them otherwise like some scaly, hissy llamas.

This paddock on the other side of the raptors is, of course, for the Indominus rex. This is how many trees they wanted there! If the dinos' habitat requirements are at all canon, no wonder the individual in the movie didn't like her paddock. Seems so counterintuitive for an animal that has so many adaptations for hiding, but then again, evolution to perfectly fit a niche in nature isn't what made this creature.

They are very enriched

Also looks like the people in this gyrosphere are two of the scientists. Huh, didn't know they use the rides, too.

Inconveniencing gyrospheres as enrichment

Continuing to work on my movie park sandbox. I added a little guest area at the entrance point, even though the entrance is at the wrong end of the map for accuracy purposes. The shape of the buildable area just worked better this way, I think.

The park is open...ing

New sandbox park in JWE, this one on Isla Nublar. As you may be able to tell, I'm taking a stab at recreating the movie park, like I'm sure many other players have also done.

Condensed scale of course since the actual park spans the whole island and the space to build in is limited, and some areas are more condensed than others depending on my interest in them, but I think it's turning out quite fun.
