Now E18 fledges!

...And I missed it, lol. The streams at SWFL eagle cam have a 12 hour backlog, but I didn't check in time to get screenshots of the occasion. But here's video: Lady Hawk's compilation from the streams, as well as from a different angle by wskrsnwings, who films the nest on location: E18 fledging, and return to the nest. In this post are screenshots from later the same day, of the now two fledglings.

(warning for some screenshots showing prey, but not very clearly)

E17 (front) and E18 (back) perching together at the attic. Looking around surveying their domain, and waiting for snack deliveries.

E17 watching E18 eating a squirrel dad brought. E17 already has a full crop from dining first. They've gotten so good at self-feeding! A far cry from E17's tentative first tries.

More attic-sharing. E18 does a scritch.
E17 has a nap while E18 continues to look around.
Enough snoozing, alert again!
E18's turn to nap.
E18 looks so much like they're glaring angrily at E17 for something here. :D That's just their face, though. Eagles and their stern-looking brow ridges.

E17 does a little catwalk strut along the branch. Too close to bother flying.

Mom brings a bird prey. E17 is quick to mantle and claim it.
E18 drops to the nest, too. Might have a piece of the bird to mantle under there? They later stole the rest of it, too, but both got to eat. Fighting over food is great practice for eventual independence.

Mom tests E17's food guarding skills by sneaking a bite of the prey.

Yes, the greed is strong with this one. Excellent!
