Fish delivery claims at West End

Screenshots from the West End of Catalina Island Bald eagle nestcam. The three eaglets are seven weeks old, with the oldest turning eight weeks today, and are all able to eat independently now. A lot of the food deliveries from parents are now just dropping off a prey for the chicks to bicker over and figure out on their own what to do with it.

The middle-hatched eaglet, Sky (previously known as WE2, and also known as 23/D by his leg band ID). Looking photogenic a few seconds before he somewhat less photogenically coughed up a pellet still on closeup.

Sky, Ahote, Kana'kini. The three watchful guardians of incoming snacks.
Sky claims two of mom's deliveries in a row!
Ahote (middle) and Kana'kini (right) try to move in for a steal.
But Sky defends his fish, and gets to eat in peace.
Mom brings one more fish.
Sky gets that one, too!
Kana'kini and Ahote let him have it, though Kana'kini looks a bit interested and keeps Sky on his toes about it.

Ahote on the right by himself. On the rock Kana'kini (front) gives Sky beak nips. Playful, friendly? Or maybe he had fish pieces on his beak, lol.

Mom on the tor in the background.
Kana'kini and Sky.
Ahote (front), Kana'kini (middle), Sky (back).
Mom brings a fish again, and Kana'kini and Ahote rush to claim it.

Kana'kini emerges as the winner and mantles her prize.
Another fish!
Ahote's fish!!!
Mom feeds it to him, and despite dibs, Kana'kini and eventually Sky get some, too.

A fish from dad!
This one Ahote finally gets all to himself.
Three eaglets full of fish.
