Growing chicks and growing clutches

All have their wing feathers pretty far along and have started growing orange feathers on their chest, though M3 is still pretty downy here. M1 has just turned five weeks old.

Four days and more feather growth later, M2 front, M1 back, M3 middle. All are now five weeks old, M3 having turned that today.

Then to the Osprey nests. At nest#1, Eine and Eura's third chick E3 has hatched, and tries to elbow its way past the older two siblings at a feeding.

Four days later, all are still very small, but E3 is pretty easy to spot.

But all are getting food.

Nap time. E1 is 8 days old, E2 7 days, and E3 4 days.

Tiuku and Tuulos at nest#3 also have three chicks. They're the same age as #1's chicks (T2 being a day younger than E2 is the only difference, T1 and T3 are the same age as the oldest and youngest in #1's clutch, respectively).

T1 is at the front here and T2 at the other edge. T3 is facing the wrong way in the middle, being a day old here and not having quite figured out how this works yet.

And from today. One of the chicks ventures outside the nest cup to look around. I think that's T1.

And today this nest has three, as well. N3 hatched soon after midnight on June 12th, so the chicks are now 5, 4, and 3 days old.

In the afternoon, mom Nuppu shading the chicks, dad Nemo tries feeding them. He didn't quite figure it out, but there was an attempt. He's a first-time parent, probably, and it can take especially males a while to get the hang of it.

Sara and Roni's two chicks at nest#5/LS. S1, who hatched on the same day as E1 and T1, is 5 days old here, and S2, who hatched on the same day as T2, is 3 days old. The last egg ended up not hatching.
