Second hatch!

This season's younger chick, E20, has now also hatched at SWFL Bald eagle nest.

Older sibling E19, and the growing pip on the shell of egg #2.

And egg. Two hours and the shell has already cracked quite a bit more.

Two more hours have passed. E19 has been a messy baby, and E20 has been a busy one.

Little beak chipping away at the shell. You can just see the egg tooth at the tip of the beak peeking out.

E19 gets a feeding, now doing much better at being able to grab food from the parent's beak.

Almost two hours later again, and the shell is starting to be split in half, and is visibly moving as E20 pushes at it, rests for a bit, and then pushes again.

An hour later, dad M15 (back/higher on screen) brings a stick for the crib rails, and what do we see when mom Harriet gets up?

There you are! Not quite officially finished hatching yet, as the chick needs to be completely outside the egg, and E20's butt is still in there.

E20 continues to wriggle free of the shell, while E19 gets another feeding.

E20 keeps working hard while Harriet broods them, and finally when she next gets up, E20 crawls out completely just before she covers them again for the night.

Good night, eaglets! Mom keeps them warm at the nest and dad guards them from the branch above.
