Harriet prefers to hunker down at the nest. M joins her, and they spend some time facing the gusts side by side. M on the left (top of the screen), Harriet on the right.

Add strong winds to list of things that don't put Harriet off the mood for getting on top of M and putting her foot on his back. As I've understood this is her way of showing her dominance (which the female always has in a bald eagle nest), as well as sometimes of inviting M for a bout of mating. Not sure if this is a common way of sending the message, but Harriet does it quite a bit.

Not putting M off the mood for arranging sticks, either (but few things do). He brought two new sticks and some grass to the nest during the time I watched, and they arranged them around the nest together.
