(Warning for still a bit of blood on this page.)
I did indeed write the dinosaur screams and the human screams using exactly the same kind of letters for both on purpose. Obviously they don't both sound the same, but they can kind of sound like they would have the same translation if you're only fluent in one of the languages. And, I suppose to some extent they do.
I think the JP/W raptors' sounds hold up pretty well, especially with the added recognizably birdy chirps and quacks from JP3, which I wish JW had kept more of. Rexes may not have roared, especially just for the sake of a trailer shot, but a social species of raptor using various screams, clicks, trills, and hisses to communicate and not being very noisy otherwise is pretty believable, and birds do make all kinds of weird sounds one might not at first hearing associate with birds at all (albatrosses and barn owls for example have been pretty surprising to me while watching them on nest cams - the sound the former greet each other with kind of sounds like a series of oinks followed by a strangely mechanical-sounding version of blowing a raspberry and finished with a cross between a moo and a meow, and of the sound the latter make when alarmed, the most accurate description I've run into would have to be "possessed chalkboard noises").
