Fish strikes back!

Nuppu and her triplets. I think that's N3 looking up.

N1 and N2 wrestle, N3 stays out of it.

Supper. N3 (back) and N2 (front) on the left, N1 on the right.

Breakfast this morning. N1 front left, N2 middle, and N3 stuck behind older siblings, I think.

All three got food, though. :)

Second breakfast. N3 didn't get anything this time on account of facing the wrong way.

But there are other meals in the day later. This one came with some extra excitement, in just a moment.

The fish still has enough fight left in it to have a flopping fit all over the nest! It gets loose from Nuppu's talons, and jumps around, giving the chicks quite the smackdown.

The fish ends up on top of N2 and N3 when it goes still again.

N1 retaliates!

...And gets knocked down.

Nuppu doesn't dare to grab the fish with her sharp talons and beak while it's flopping on top of her babies, but when she's convinced the fish is done trying not to get eaten despite having already lost most of its head, she drags it off the chicks. They seem okay, if a little messy.

Feeding continues. N1 already has a big crop, and after a couple of bites lies down to nap and preen instead, leaving the rest of the meal to little siblings.
