Months late, but I don't mind. The important part is - she's here!

Eagle pool party
Some moments from SWFL Bald Eagle cam yesterday. The fledglings are still hanging around for now, but it's starting to be the time where they could leave for their big eagle adventure any day now (or they could continue to live at home and enjoy free food for several more weeks, only time will tell).
Dad brought a bird prey to the pond, and after a scuffle between the eaglets, E15 claimed it. E16 got some fish later. Though the food is caught for them and brought to them, there's always at least a little bit of "stealing" behavior in receiving the food deliveries, whether it's towards their sibling or the parent. That's great for preparing them for eventually being on their own. Here's E15 guarding her breakfast on the left, E16 is in the middle, and dad M on the right.

Baby Booted Eagles
A pretty big collection of screenshots I've taken from the livestream of the Sierra de Guadarrama National Park Booted Eagle nestcam over the past month. This year's two chicks, Lasai (hatched June 7th) and Lucky (hatched June 9th), being cute and getting along. Warning that a few screenshots show half-eaten prey pretty clearly.

Masu in the sun
The dark surface of the table and her dark fur get very warm.
In the shade rather than in the sun, but she also likes to hang out at the balcony. She's not as big of a fan of having her nap interrupted by a photographing human.Apology chinscritches.

Pocket-sized Lesbian Pride Flag
For pocket-sized lesbians.
Made using various pretty papers, glue, two sparkly heart stickers, and polymer clay for the pole.

It suits Skye quite well, doesn't it! It fits in her hand braced on one of her fingertips so she can actually hold it.

What's your favorite Jurassic Park scene
A question surely asked at every good introductions conversation, along with favorite dinosaur (mine's the Troodon/Stenonychosaurus/Latenivenatrix tangle). For each movie from the original trilogy separately, these are my picks. Not ranking them against each other or anything, but here are some thoughts on their merits to me. Naturally, the post contains spoilers for these movies in case you haven't seen them.
Jurassic Park
The answer is too obvious, so to not make things too easy for myself, I'm disqualifying both the raptors in the kitchen and the T. rex escape. They're great, but there are a lot of great scenes in this movie. Such as:

Rainy day treehopping
SWFL eagle fledgling antics from yesterday.
E15 perching near the pond in the morning.
E16, too, leaves the nest tree and goest to the trees near the pond. First to a snag, then to this palm tree, and then changes trees again. How do your parents manage to keep track of you two now that you can fly?
E15 pokes around in the pond bank sand, and soon makes a discovery...

Fledgling life
Some screenshots of the SWFL eagles from the past two weeks and today.
Siblings perching together at the pond fence. E15 on the left/closer to camera.
E16 squeeing, mom Harriet preening. The eaglets have started mostly sleeping outside the nest, with E16 staying at the nest tree's branches the most often, while E15 seems to like the camera 2 tree.
Eaglets going to the pond first thing in the morning. E15 higher, E16 lower.

E16 has fledged!
The SWFL eagle nest now has two fledglings!
E16 (front/left) and E15 hanging out at the attic just before the cameras had a malfunction. During the time the cameras were down, the eaglets left the nest and made their way to the pasture pond.
E16 (left again, I'm pretty sure, but hard to tell) and E15 splashing around at the same spot E15 visited when she* first fledged! They seemed to really enjoy the water, and spent some time having a drink and a bath.
