E16 has fledged!

The SWFL eagle nest now has two fledglings!

E16 (front/left) and E15 hanging out at the attic just before the cameras had a malfunction. During the time the cameras were down, the eaglets left the nest and made their way to the pasture pond.

E16 (left again, I'm pretty sure, but hard to tell) and E15 splashing around at the same spot E15 visited when she* first fledged! They seemed to really enjoy the water, and spent some time having a drink and a bath.

E15 playfully nipping at E16's feathers.
E15 on the left, soaked but happy E16 on the right.
E16 wanders along the bank, but hops back to big sis when one of the horses comes over to also have a drink and a bath at the pond.

Unrestrained summer fun.
E16 airing out his wet wings.

Last I checked, the eaglets are still exploring the pond right now. Congratulations to E16, and stay safe you two!

*I'm starting to agree with the guess that E15 is female, and E16 is probably male. There's no way to tell for sure without a DNA test, but size comparisons can give a pretty good clue now that they're at their full size, since female eagles are bigger than males. When seen side by side with M, E15 is pretty clearly bigger than her dad, while E16 continues to be smaller than E15 and looks to be about the same size as M.
