Rainy day treehopping

SWFL eagle fledgling antics from yesterday.

E15 perching near the pond in the morning.

E16, too, leaves the nest tree and goest to the trees near the pond. First to a snag, then to this palm tree, and then changes trees again. How do your parents manage to keep track of you two now that you can fly?

E15 pokes around in the pond bank sand, and soon makes a discovery...

Fledgling life

E16 squeeing, mom Harriet preening. The eaglets have started mostly sleeping outside the nest, with E16 staying at the nest tree's branches the most often, while E15 seems to like the camera 2 tree.

E16 has fledged!

The SWFL eagle nest now has two fledglings!

E16 (front/left) and E15 hanging out at the attic just before the cameras had a malfunction. During the time the cameras were down, the eaglets left the nest and made their way to the pasture pond.

E16 (left again, I'm pretty sure, but hard to tell) and E15 splashing around at the same spot E15 visited when she* first fledged! They seemed to really enjoy the water, and spent some time having a drink and a bath.
