Utu (left/back) and Lumme surveying the misty swamp yesterday morning. Both have gone on little flying trips since their fledging (Lumme, Utu), so here are some takeoffs and landings.

Not long after his sister returned to the nest, Utu takes off on his first flight. First some warm-up wingers...

Utu flying in the distance, right at the top of the screen in the middle. Congratulations, and stay safe out there! Like Lumme on the day of her fledging, Utu is 7 weeks old today.

Lumme returns to nest after fledging

Both chicks are home again! (Utu left/front, Lumme right) Lumme flew back this morning after having spent two nights away, on her first trip to the world outside the nest.

High hovers by Utu just before. Lumme could be heard calling from somewhere nearby.

At nest #1, the older chick Lumme fledged yesterday at 7 weeks old to the day. Here she is warming up her wings just before while little brother Utu watches.
