Bobblehead sightings

Peeks at the two new hatchlings at the Trio Eagles nest. There are pictures of the eaglets being fed a fish, but not very graphic.

Starr is at the nest brooding, and has built a grass fort around the nest bowl to shield the babies. One peeks out when she gets up to adjust her position and add more grass.

Valor2 flies in with a fish.
Starr doesn't get up, so he begins to putter around the nest while being quite literally right in her face. He moves the fish...

...arranges some sticks...
...and in general seems to be acting like there's no room in the nest. Very subtle, but I do believe he wants a turn with the babies already, lol.

Starr finally gets up, and the two begin to feed the eaglets together. V2 on the left, Starr on the right.

Starr tears pieces from the fish and gives them to V2, who feeds them to the eaglets. He was blocking the view a lot, but I did see two fluffy heads bouncing in the nest bowl behind him. Not sure if the younger eaglet has had enough rest and neck exercise yet after hatching to be able to hold its head up long enough to be fed, but the egg's contents that the chick absorbs before hatching still sustain them, so there's no rush.

Valor1 flies in shortly before the feeding finishes, bringing a big bunch of nest cushioning material with him. V2 goes to the bowl to claim his brooding shift.

What an inconveniently placed piece of grass!
Starr flies away, leaving the dads with the kids. V1 stays for a while before leaving, too. Maybe later it'll be his turn next. V2 continues Starr's fort construction, and gets his beak tangled in the same inconvenient piece of grass for a moment.

Looks cozy, if view-obscuring.
But the safety of the eaglets is the most important thing.
