Starting to look like a raptor

Bulking up the neck and the back of the head to the approximate shape they have under the feathers, and other additions.

A bit more 3D to the tail tip, with a drop of liquid clay on each feather bordering the tailfan, then shaping small ball of clay into a feather over it.

Chest hair. Also detailing the shoulders, and in general the seam between each wing and the body.

Moving up the neck with the detailing. I added snakes of clay of various sizes for some general shapes, according to how the plumage is wrapped around the neck, with Skye's head being turned to one side a bit.

Smoothing and shaping the snakes using the wire loop, darning needles of two different sizes, the silicon brush, and tip of the sewing pin for the occasional thinner line.

Adding Skye's little beard, bulking up the jaw a bit, and attaching tiny flecks of clay to the brows to make them more symmetrical.

And I got as far as starting on the head crest feathers, but a day only has so many hours in it. Finally baked everything at this point.

Everything else came out of the oven just fine, but I'm noticing some discoloration on the parts with a lot of masking tape on them under the clay. So, lest that becomes a problem and continuing to bake it makes things worse, I'm switching to epoxy putty that doesn't need baking to cure it from here on. Was probably only going to bake it once after this anyway, but now I'd rather not.
