De-mulleting

More work on the Skyefigure. Bringing out the epoxy putty now.

First round: cheek fluff, defining the mouth corners more, and continuing the crest feathers. I was going to do more, but epoxy putty has a time limit, being self-curing, so I didn't get around to it yet.

Apoxie, the brand I'm using, can theoretically be worked with for 3 hours after mixing it, but I've found it gets too stiff for me after just 2 hours. It could depend on the conditions I work in, too, like temperature, though the putty cures chemically, not by drying. Since the sculpting work at this point is small details, they're a bit time consuming to be precise with, and the putty takes 24 hours to cure fully.

Oh, and also I didn't mention this in the post about making the eyes because I thought it ended up not being visible after sculpting the eyelids, but I added a bit of pink clay to the inner corners of the eyes back then, as nictitating membranes. It looks like the one on the left eye didn't get completely covered after all!

A bit more head fluff on the second round, including one of those separately made polymer clay feathers "glued" in there with the putty.

The tools I'm using are the same as with the polymer clay. I've mostly been using just the craft blade and the sewing pin, with occasional help from the silicon brush and the wire loop, where the pin's round end was too big to fit to smooth the putty in a small crevice. Got to remember to clean them in time, too.

On the third round I got the crest feathers almost finished. Still needs a couple more, but they go between the ones I added now, and they'll stick better, and there's less risk of pulling out other uncured feathers with them should they stick to the tool more than they stick to the figure, if I let everything cure first.

Finally adding... was it 4? feathers to fill the gap in the tuft's silhouette near the top.
