Saved by a text! Well, some of you, at least.
I'm not fond of the plot device where characters are trying to be sneaky to stay safe and then suddenly their phone rings and alerts the monster they're hiding from to their location. Nothing inherently wrong with it, but that it's a trope kind of stinks of some "kids these days, always on their phones, harrumph!" attitude getting mixed in with the slasher movie rulers that by now everyone knows so well they've been parodied and the parodies parodied. "Tsk tsk, if only you'd left that oh so frivolous technology behind, you would have been fine." When I'm wandering in a dark forest trying not to get lost and not knowing what kind of dangers might wait for me in there, the last thing I want to have left behind is a way of contacting the outside world for help.
I had to pause to consider what have I gotten myself into when I got to the last panel, because for some reason I'd decided to convey several things happening with just sound... in visual media. I guess we'll see whether I succeeded.
