Some nestcam screenshots from yesterday. All from raptor nests, so warning for visible raptor prey.
Midnight cropdrop by little N2 at nest #3 of Satakunta Ospreys. Yes, it's night in this.
N2 preening in the morning. Growing new plumage is itchy.
Intruder alert! Dad Ahti on the left, mom Nuppu on the right. When you're a good fisher, you may find yourself attracting an entourage of would-be fish thieves.
Alert over.
That means it's time for food, right?
N2 has grown overnight again, it seems!
Still not as big as the nest #1 osplets. A2 preening on the left, A3 lying down in the middle, and A1 doing some head-waving to have a good look at something interesting in the camera's general direction.
A2's turn to have a look. Dad perched in a nearby tree, perhaps? A3 is lying down again on the left, A1 in the foreground is nibbling on fish. Not quite old enough for self-feeding yet, but good try.
Everyone looking around. From left to right (and they stay in more or less the same spots for the next two screenshots, too): A2, A1, A3. But where's mom?

Evening preen. A1's contour feathers are very visible already, though they still have growing to do.

Cornell Redtail goings-on as well. K-2's beak continues to be injured, but the chick did well this day at doing normal bird things. To make one of those things a bit easier, though, here's mom Big Red feeding K-2. The chicks can eat on their own now, but having the tearing bits out of the prey be occasionally done for them helps.
K-2 photobombing a zooming that was probably meant for K-3 behind them. It's okay, you're cute, too.
K-3.
Suddenly nictitating membranes. (It's how birds blink. Looks neat.)
K-2 self-feeding on a bird leftover. K-1 watching closely, K-3 preening in the background.

K-2's injured right side of the face looks pretty rough, but they're also able to preen themselves.
K-3 doing wing excercises. K-1 in the middle, K-2 closer to camera.
Arthur drops by with prey. K-2 rushes in to matle and claim it, pushing dad out of the way in the process. Good job at that, too!
K-2 eats the prey, K-3 goes over to have a look, and gets to have a few pieces K-2 dropped. But it's not as much as K-3 was hoping to get, it seems.
Tug-o-prey ensues!
But K-3 gets to gulp down the rest of the prey after K-2 has eaten a bit more.
