Messy babies

At nest #1 at Satakunta Ospreys, osplet A1 fails to get out of the way of sibling A2's poop shoot.

Maybe it'll work as sunscreen.

At nest #3, baby N2 is a week old today!

And threw a bit of a celebratory tantrum. Biting nest material and screaming squeaking angrily.

It looks like N2 had what I think is a down feather stuck in their eye, and that may be the cause for the behavior. Chicks this young can't see well, and so for all N2 knew someone was biting them in the eye and needed to be fought in self-defense. In a clutch with siblings that would be a pretty realistic scenario, so can't blame the little one for jumping to conclusions.
