Stick arranging for all

Nuppu and N2 at Satakunta Osprey nest #3. Not actually staring into the camera, but one does sometimes get the feeling of being scolded for having laughed at the chick's clumsy waddling or some other amusing bird behavior when they do this.

N2's plumage continues to grow quickly. Getting fluffy and speckly.

N2 got up and turned to face Nuppu after having been lying down at the nest rails. Nuppu is snacking on a fish, so it looks like she's testing if N2 wants some, too, by putting her beak near the chick's. The answer was yes, eventually, but the most urgent reason for N2 getting up and turning around was to poop over the edge, lol. Making room for more.

N2's eyes look orange in the setting sun.

A little profile comparison between mother and chick. N2 has a proportionally bigger beak, as the beak and feet reach adult size first, and the rest of the chick takes a bit longer to grow into them.

Nuppu resting her head on N2 during the night. ♥ Ahti is guarding the nest perched in a tree in the background, but it's hard to spot him there unless you know where to look, and I'm sure I've missed him there in a few screenshots myself:

Dad spotted. This tree and the ones closer to the nest near the edge of the frame on the right are his usual roosts.

No weather is too hot for a bit of stick arranging.

A few shots of N2 alone in the nest early this morning. Mom and dad are both perched in the trees on the right.

And later a juicy fish, too. Along with the shading, that'll help with handling the hot weather.

N2 arranges sticks as well, even stands to do so for a bit. Maybe they made the nest rail more comfortable to lie on. Maybe just tried.

Supper fish, and it's starting to be time for bed.
