Seaglet days

Good morning, (left to right) SE28, SE27, and Lady at Sydney White-bellied Sea-eagle cam.

[Post includes a few views of prey, and a closeup of what I think is only an irritated and not injured eye on an eaglet]

SE27 blep.

SE28 front, SE27 back.

SE27 left, SE28 on the right accepting a bite of fish. Babies doing what babies do best. Eating...

And sleeping. (SE28 on the left and SE27 on the right from here on until otherwise specified.)

Necks crossed.

SE27 giving SE28's headfeathers a few scritches. Don't know if it was playful or curious, or just wanting the sibling to move their head a bit, but it wasn't a bite.

Next morning. SE28 is in view more in front of Lady, SE27 is under her.

SE27 left/front, SE28 right and looking around.
SE28 closeups.
And a closeup of that right eye, too. It looks like something stuck to the eyelid, maybe matted down feathers, but the eye seems fine.

SE27 still on the left. Trying to arrange themselves comfortably in the nest cup.

And a feeding. Both chicks ate well.
SE28 climbs back up for seconds. SE27 joined in, too, eventually.
SE27 front, SE28 back and facing the camera. Finding a comfy sleeping position.

SE28 left, SE27 right.
Now the other way around.
Necks crossed again. SE27 left.
Oops, wrong move, and now it's a staredown for a bit.
They settled back down. SE27 giving SE28 a few beak nips.
There have been occasional bouts of sibling rivalry, but they're short and mild. Usually SE28 bonks first, then SE27 retaliates and SE28 submits, which ends the fight. Eaglets being eaglets.
From this morning. SE28 back/top, with their eye looking a lot better.
SE28 preens SE27. I think it was probably by accident, with the sibling just being in the way as SE28 was trying to preen themself, but still cute.

SE27 left, SE28 right. Sharing the nest cup while being clumsy babies involves a lot of bumping into each other.
And a lot of sleepy cuddles.
Still SE27 left, SE28 right.
SE27 stretching out a tiny leg. :)
