Two kinds of fishraptors at one nest

From six days ago. Dad Ahti dropping by to pick up the leftovers of Myy's supper.

Ahti bringing her a big fish.

Myy on the defensive, and Ahti seems cautious, too. It's not each other they're watching.

Myy tries to eat after Ahti leaves, but doesn't seem to feel safe to do so in the nest. She takes off with the fish, but soon comes back.

She tracks Ahti circling around the nest, but he's not alone, and Myy doesn't begin alerting to join in on the territory defense.

She takes off with the fish again, but drops it to the ground near the nest tree.

The intruder dives to the fish past the nest, and the reason for the extra caution becomes clear: it's a White-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla)! Fortunately it's just the fish it wants.

Ahti dives at the eagle, and it flies away.

Myy back at the nest the next morning (yesterday), for another rainy breakfast wait like today's.
