Hatching has started at nest #4 of Sääksilive Osprey nests, with the first chick hatching this morning.
Mom Nuppu brooding/incubating, dad Niilo has just brought a new stick (the placement of which Nuppu didn't seem to approve of). A little bit of both chick and one of the two still unhatched eggs peeking out from under Nuppu.

Niilo brings a fish, which Nuppu claims. She gets some food for herself first, as the chick wakes up from its nap.
Small, hungry, squeaky noises.
Nuppu tries her best, but the chick is still very wobbly, and can barely hold its head up, let alone still. It doesn't help that Nuppu also seems out of practice at feeding chicks, and a little clumsy about it. But this is just the first feeding, there will be others.
The chick managed to eat two pieces, I think. That's already something!
The other Sääksilive nests also have chicks in the making, though still unhatched. #2 is unoccupied, but #1, #3, and LS (nest in
Lounais-
Suomi - Southwest Finland - but not in Satakunta region like the others) all have incubating pairs.
