Eaglet Spirit at the Big Bear Bald eagle nest fledged yesterday morning, and has now returned safely in the afternoon. (Warning for visible fish prey, and also a bug later in the post.)
Dad Shadow brings a fish to the nest.
No one's present to claim the delivery, so he starts eating. Soon from a distance comes the sound of some very demanding squees. :)
And still making those squees all the while, Spirit flies back to the nest!
Shadow feeds his newly-fledgling daughter. She can eat independently already, but she's had a big day. She can be a bit baby for a while.

Spirit rushes to claim mom's delivery... but it's just nest material, not food.
Spirit spends the night at the nest, perched on the branch she fledged from. While she sleeps, one of the San Bernardino flying squirrels also living in the tree visits the nest again (bottom left corner).
