This season's clutch has started hatching at the
Cornell Red-tailed hawk nest, with the first chick, L1, welcomed into the world in the late evening on April 21st. Two of the other eggs are also in the process of hatching now. And speaking of the eggs, this year the mother hawk Big Red laid
four instead of the usual three!
Warning that all of the closeup screenshots of the chick also show dead animals clearly. The nest has a full pantry, and the food is kept close to the hungry mouths to feed.
