Second hatch at Cornell Hawks

Red-tailed hawk chick L2 has hatched late last night! Here's the first hatchling L1 on its second morning, with still unhatched egg siblings. Warning that the rest of the screenshots show bloody prey in closeups.

Egg#2 is starting to be pretty open. Mom's talon catches on the loose part of shell and does some of the chick's work for it.
