Checking in on Bald eagle nests. Warning for closeups of bloody prey.

The chick at the Two Harbors nest is now a week old, and has already grown so much from the tiny hatchling it was the last time I took a screenshot. Here with dad Chase again.

Chase arrives at the nest afterwards, while Cholyn is perching nearby. He picks up the prey in the pantry and tries feeding the chick some more, but it's not hungry anymore, so Chase eats the pieces the chick rejects.

Cholyn does not approve of that, and drops down to the nest to tell him off, lol. Food in the nest is for baby only!

After a discussion between the parents, Chase leaves the nest. It's time for Cholyn to start brooding the chick overnight while he guards them, anyway.

At West End, the Two Harbors chick's older sister Thunder and her mate Akecheta's nest on the same island, closeups have been scarce for the past couple of days. Strong wind damaged something in the closer camera's transmission, so the nest has instead been viewed with the more distand overlook cam. The chicks have been doing well, but hopefully we'll get closer looks at them soon again. The issue should be fixed during the weekend, and until then the main camera's feed replays highlights from 2019 (of Thunder's last clutch with her previous mate), and the overlook camera is zoomed at the nest. Here's dad Akecheta with napping triplets, who at this distance are quite well camoflaged until they move.

Akecheta at the nest with the chicks, when Thunder brings a big stick. She arranges it for a while until it's how she likes it. Not sure why she keeps bringing these full branches that she puts in the middle of the nest, but with no tree to branch to, maybe it'll serve as perching practice for the chicks.

And this morning, Thunder with the chicks right after breakfast. WE3 is in the middle, not sure which one of the older two is which. WE1 and WE2 have turned five weeks old, WE2 today. WE3 is still two days short of that.

At the Big Bear nest, Jackie and Shadow's eaglet Spirit turns six weeks old today. Here are a few screenshots I took last night of Spirit getting ready for bed.

In other Big Bear nest news, Simba, Spirit's older brother and Shadow's firstborn from his and Jackie's first clutch together, turns three years old somewhere out there in the world today.

And a few screenshots of one of the SWFL nest's 15-week-old fledglings, just being pretty and hanging out at the pasture pond. I think this is the older eaglet E19.
