A show of wings

Screenshots from Sääksilive Osprey nests. Includes views of fish prey.

N2/USU at nest #4 at sunset.
Wing stretches this morning.
And some good wing flapping exercises, with mom Nuppu for company. The injured left wing is rising higher than it used to!

And he folds it so the primaries go over the tail again like the right wing's. He could only get them under the tail for a while.

Good job!
Dad Nemo with N2.
But he didn't bring a fish. N2 protests.
Here's mom, too. I think there was another intruder alert, so both parents went to defend the nest.

Soon afterwards, Nemo brings a big branch.
It needs a bit of arranging to be just right.
Nuppu and N2 are in the way of the arranging, and N2 gives dad a piece of his mind for that.

Nuppu and N2.

And now Nemo brings a fish.

No complaints this time.

Fledgling spottings at nest #1. Both siblings have been sleeping in a tree the past two nights. Here's younger chick Utu.

And Lumme. She turned 8 weeks old yesterday.
Rousing feathers.
And both.
