Ulpukka orders fish.

Eura brings her one. Lumme turned up, too, but the fish had already been claimed and mantled, and she didn't land.

Ulpukka eats the fish for quite a while, then leaves it unattended for half a minute.

Lumme quickly flies to the nest.

And that's what happens. Well, you already have a full crop.

Lumme and Ulpukka are still around, but Utu was last seen on Sunday. It's the time in the season for chicks to leave their natal territory and start their migration to Africa, so it's possible Utu has already done that. Considering he's undeniably been the last one in the pecking order, it makes a lot of sense he would have figured he's better off on his own, catching his own fish. Wherever he is, I hope he's safe and well, and that maybe we'll get to see him again in two years when this year's chicks return to Finland as subadults.

The girls may know how to fish already, too, but for now they have at least one parent (Eve was also last seen on Sunday, so it's likely she, too, has left) still bringing fish to the nest, and squabbling over that is less energy spent than catching them, so they may stay for as long as Eura does.
